I started beanstalk publications in 2003 as a technical writing consultant; however, my dream was to someday return to my love of stories and to share those stories with others. After several years in the making, that someday has arrived. I am proud to announce the launch of our first book for children, Sweet Dreams for Scotty and the launch of our publishing division. My goal is to create an environment where anyone with a dream, idea, or story concept can share their thoughts and gain assistance in realizing their thoughts through writing. I hope you enjoy our stories and I look forward to helping you bring your imagination to life.

Meet the Team
Melissa J McKechnie
I grew up an avid reader of all types of stories, from Maurice Sendak, to Alexander Dumas, to Tolstoy, to Rachel Ray's cookbooks. After graduating from California State University at Fullerton with a Masters Degree in English, I went straight to work as a Technical Writer. I know, technical writing is a bit removed from my days with Tolstoy, but I still love it. Technical Writing allowed me to teach and help people through my words, about products that may otherwise have been difficult for them to use.
 
I have been technical writing in various fields for ten years, and now, it's time to return to my first love: stories! Whether you are a new writer, an established writer, or someone who has a great imagination, I want to help you bring those ideas and writings to print.
